Family Support / Visitation Coach - Quality Parenting Center (QPC)
The Family Time Specialist (FTS) is responsible for supervising visits between biological parents/caregivers and their children. The supervised visits are facilitated in accordance with the Quality Parenting Center (QPC) model endorsed by DCF.
Staff are provided training to work within the QPC model guidelines.
The QPC is a community-based service, using a parent empowerment model, serving DCF involved families who've had their children removed and placed in foster or relative care.
STATUS: Full-Time Position, 40 Hours per week
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., schedule flexibility may be needed to accommodate clients, program operates 365 days per year.
SALARY RANGE: $43,000.00 to $47,000.00 per year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides agency-based services including parent education and advocacy to DCF families with children in foster or relative care.
- Facilitates supervised visits between biological parents and their children at the QPC.
- Transports children to all scheduled visits at the QPC.
- Implements visitation plans in collaboration with relevant parties (DCF, etc.)
- Provides coaching support to parents during scheduled visits with their children.
- Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with all program staff, all relevant systems, and key participants within each system to ensure coordinated efforts for optimal outcomes for the family.
- Completes required trainings and professional development.
- Participates in staff meetings, in-service trainings, and required workshops/conferences.
- Ensures scheduled visits are completed as planned.
- Works a flexible schedule, including evenings and holidays.
- Represents the program and agency in the community as requested.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in the Human Service field preferred, an Associates Degree, or High School Diploma with experience providing direct services to families is required.
- Both formal education and life experience will be considered.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team, provide culturally competent treatment, and work a variable work schedule to include evenings.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills are required.
- Must possess a valid CT Driver's License with a clean driving record.
